Caught On Camera: Suspect steals security cameras from Yosemite Middle School

FRESNO, Calif. – Police need your help identifying a suspect accused of ripping out  security cameras  from a Fresno middle school. This suspect isn’t just accused of stealing from schools. Police say he’s burglarizing city property and it’s caught on camera. The warning is clear at this Fresno City water pump station.  Security cameras  are on. Last week those cameras recorded a man breaking in. Police say he stole the camera, an air conditioning unit and a metal door. Five days later, detectives say the same suspect trespasses onto Yosemite Middle School. He appears to scope out the area as he walks through the hallway before ripping out this security camera. “These cameras are pretty expensive that Fresno Unified has installed and we’re looking at a $2,000 loss from the school just on this case alone,” said Detective Donnie Dinnell. Dinnell says the suspect stole two cameras that night and police believe he’s tied to Tioga Middle School’s missing cameras. ...

No CCTV cameras in or around Gauri Lankesh’s office

There are no  CCTV cameras  in and around the office of ‘Gauri Lankesh Patrike’ in Gandhi Bazaar, Basavanagudi, disappointing the Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is probing into the chilling murder of the 52-year-old journalist-activist. An SIT team, which visited the area on Thursday, was disappointed that no  CCTV cameras  were installed in Gauri’s office or other buildings nearby, a member of the SIT told DH. The team wanted to review the CCTV footage to determine whether Gauri’s assailants had tailed her from her office to her house in Rajarajeshwari Nagar where they gunned her down in cold blood. The SIT is now looking at the CCTV footage of major traffic junctions between Gandhi Bazaar and Gauri’s house on Tuesday and days before, he added. Kidnapping at Jalandhar railway station exposes security lapses, no CCTV cameras functional

Following an acquaintance’s advice, Kishan Chand, 36, who worked as a hawker in Rae Bareli (Uttar Pradesh), decided to try his luck and start a new life in Jalandhar city. Chand along with his family boarded a train from Lucknow to Jalandhar city on September 2. But little did he know that his quest for a better life for his family would turn out to be a nightmare. Chand was accompanied by his with wife, two sons aged 7, 5 and a 6-day-old infant, who was kidnapped from the railway station, when the couple had gone to washroom. The couple had left their son with his two brothers who were sleeping at the time of the incident. The infant was kidnapped from platform number 2 at around 5 am on Monday. The infant has not been even named yet. Later that day, Poonam was admitted to the civil hospital as her condition was not good, claimed the GRP police.
